rooflite® offers a full line of lightweight soil products, meticulously engineered for a diverse range of green roof applications and designed to optimize green roof performance.
rooflite® extensive
The ideal growth medium for extensive green roof systems with hardy and drought tolerant vegetation. A state-of-the-art growth medium designed for all kinds of extensive green roofs in multi-course or multilayer construction.
rooflite® extensive properties:
- State-of-the-art growing substrate for all kinds of extensive green roofs in multi-course or multi-layer construction.
- Can be used in combination with rooflite® drain as a multi-course system or with a synthetic drainage layer in a multi-layer system
- Normally used at depth of 8 – 20 cm
- Supports small, low-growing plant species, particularly succulents and other drought-tolerant vegetation
rooflite® intensive
An engineered growth media that has optimized performance characteristics for intensive green roofs, rooftop gardens, container gardens and planters, designed for long lasting and healthy plant growth.
rooflite® intensive properties:
- An ideal growing substrate for intensive green roofs, rooftop gardens, container gardens & planters
- Can be used in combination with rooflite® drain to provide deeper root space
- Normally used at depth of 20 – 40 cm
- Supports growth of ground covers, perennials, ornamental grasses, shrubs & small trees
rooflite® drain
Granular lightweight aggregate that creates a natural root environment and can be used as an alternative to a synthetic drainage layer. It can also be used as a bedding layer when pavers or patios are specified.
rooflite® drain properties:
- A granular drainage layer that can be easily adjusted for any area or depth for extensive, semi-intensive or intensive green roofs in multi-course systems.
- Promotes healthy plant growth by retaining & draining water in a natural way
- Provides a more natural root space with better water & air distribution than synthetic options
- Can also be used as a bedding material for pavers, ensuring drainage while contributing to storm water retention
